Bringing Free,

Life-Saving
Swim Education to NYC Students

Black People Will Swim (BPWS) is proud to announce a multi-year partnership with Julia Richman Education Complex, one of New York City’s largest and most diverse education campuses, serving five schools under one roof.

Through this partnership, BPWS will deliver comprehensive water safety education and swim instruction to students across the entire Julia Richman Education Complex—ensuring that every child has access to the skills they need to stay safe in and around water.

Powered by the Center for Disease Control and Prevention Foundation

This collaboration is made possible through the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), allowing BPWS to provide FREE swim lessons for one full year to participating students at the Julia Richman Education Complex.

This funding represents a critical investment in drowning prevention, public health, and equitable access to water safety education—particularly for communities that have historically been underserved.
